With SalesVu iPad POS System Al Capone’s Dinner & Show can consolidate all their business departments under one system

Our friends in Orlando, Florida bring back the prohibition and gangster fashion to today’s entertainment. Offering a wide variety of foods, beverage, and transporting customers to another time in history, Al Capones is part of the SalesVu experience and by using the iPad POS all their services are aligned under one system platform.

Al Capones show starts with a turn-of-the-century ice cream parlor where your party will knock three times, say a secret password and enter Gangland Chicago 1931… Get ready for some action during our good ol’ gangster shoot out!.

According to business owner John Kucik, the dinner theater puts a lot of effort into their show, décor, and food. Definitely, it is a mandatory stop for the many tourists that travel to the Disney and Universal Studios city.

We talked to the business partner of Brian Costello for more details about their experience with SalesVu Ipad POS System. We asked them why  they needed a mobile or iPad POS system and they responded:

“We needed something that worked with equipment we already owned. We chose SalesVu because of the feature set and no upfront equipment cost or built in monthly fees”

They told us that they used to work with traditional cash registers and that they considered Square Register and Shopify POS as alternate mobile POS Systems. The thing that Brian likes the most from SalesVu is that:

“Features that can be used in different departments such as invoices for phone orders tickets and liquid measurements for tracking alcohol inventory in the bar. It has helped us consolidate different departments to work under one system, from the box office to the bar and kitchen. Everyone works on the same system”

Compared to other standalone POS Systems, SalesVu have saved Al Capone Dinner Show several thousand dollars. Currently they don’t use the E-commerce feature, but they used the email invoice feature, which is presented very conveniently and easily for SalesVu Ipad POS solutions

Quick Product Addition, Inventory Management and Customer History in SalesVu iPad POS SystemMake the Difference at JV Skin and Beauty

The Company

JV Skin and Beauty (JVSB) is a skin care and beauty boutique. JVSB was created with the intent to ensure a customized, serious treatment focused on skin health. Each appointment is unique and centers around individual clients’ goals.

“I help clients achieve individual beauty,” said Jen Valdivia. “It is not how we look to the world, but how we feel in it. JV Skin and Beauty is about helping people realize their desired experience.”

The Needs

JVSB needed an mPOS solution to accept payments anywhere, anytime using mobile devices. Valdivia occasionally travels for work and needs the flexibility of a “simple card reader” and a “secure system that is capable of quick transactions.” JVSB includes products and services, so the POS system needs to go beyond a simple solution.

“I need to be able to manage inventory, customers, product costs and taxes on the go,” said Valdivia. “This helps me avoid time-consuming updates and painful reconciliation when I’m back at my desk.”

The SalesVu Decision

JVSB began looking into other POS and ECommerce solutions, including Booker, Intuit, NCR Silver and Shopify, after using Square.

SalesVu allows me to manage product inventory and link customers to their purchases,” said Valdivia. “I have products that I provide for my clients and needed a system that allowed the inclusion of products in the same transaction of an actual client service. I also chose SalesVu because of the easy export feature and customizable features that set it apart, such as: alerts, customer profiles and quick additions at POS.”

The Results

JVSB likes the capability to quickly add a service or product that may have been missed in the initial upload of products. They can quickly type in the service, cost, tax rate, etc when finishing a transaction without disturbing the client. According to Valdivia, this ability has been critical at JV Skin and Beauty.

“One of my customers tends to add on services on-the-spot that are not common, so I absolutely needed to quickly add it at POS,” said Valdivia.

SalesVu has also helped JVSB streamline the ability to view revenue and profits.

“I can pull and save reports when I analyze sales; I get inventory alerts, can customize the type of notifications I receive and use both the mobile and full site to view data,” said Valdivia. “It’s easy to use, looks clean and streamlines, and customer service has been outstanding the few times I’ve called.”

Lastly, JVSB has saved about $50 per month by using SalesVu.

McKinney’s Irish Pub Chooses SalesVu’s iPad POS over competitors

1001904_632171753473524_372785540_n

McKinneys Irish Pub (MIP) is a new, authentic 2,000 square foot pub in the Haymarket district of Lincoln, Nebraska. MIP boasts a large selection of craft beer and Irish whiskeys.

Though McKinneys only opened in November, Owner Nathan Stewart has been in the food industry for almost 15 years and worked with numerous POS system, including Micros, Aloha and others.

Stewart wanted an iPad POS to “step up the service.” McKinneys can now have servers on the floor with iPad Minis and save two to three minutes in the ordering process.

“This was the first time we went to an iPad interface,” said Stewart. “I used other systems before for my other business but I knew that I would be running a bar and needing more detail like, printing credit card receipts, inventory control and clocking employees in and out. I would say I researched [SalesVu] for about a month [prior to making my decision].”

Stewart also considered Breadcrumb, Revel and Micros for McKinneys.

“I chose SalesVu’s restaurant POS because of the price, customization abilities, inventory control and integration with QuickBooks,” said Stewart.

Stewart says his favorite SalesVu feature is the QuickBooks integration.

“It makes our job as business owners a lot easier when you don’t have to spend so much time doing the reports,” said Stewart. “All of the different reports that SalesVu can do are really convenient as well.”

Stewart believes that SalesVu has made them more efficient and saved them anywhere from $500 to $15,000 based on other estimates he was given. He also says he has saved on SalesVu’s free customer support.

Cheers to Pitchfork Brewing Using SalesVu’s iPad POS System

Color_Logo

Pitchfork Brewing (PB), a small Wisconsin brewery, has just adopted SalesVu! PB focuses on brewing craft beer with an emphasis on environmental practices and locally sourced ingredients. They also have a tap room attached to the brewery where customers can stop in for a pint or pick up a growler to take home.

PB Owner Jessie Fredricksen read about SalesVu while researching credit card processors. Fredrickson thought that because PB is a small business with a small budget they would have to use a basic register and an add-on card processing machine. Then, they learned about the various POS systems that operate on iPads and iPhones.

“We discovered that we could have a POS system that provided great analytics without having to buy expensive equipment,” said Fredricksen.

In addition to SalesVu, PB considered Square, Shopkeep, NCR Silver and a traditional cash register. PB chose SalesVu’s POS system because it has everything they need in an iPad POS for a great price.

“Square wouldn’t let us run tabs for our customers, which we absolutely need in the tap room,” said Fredricksen. “We also liked the sturdier card reader that comes with SalesVu, as well as the in-depth analysis that the program can run for us. We are just beginning to scratch the surface of using all the data that SalesVu provides.”

With SalesVu, PB can operate smoothly when they are busy. They can now process transactions on the spot while delivering kegs to restaurants, outdoor festivals and events. Their favorite feature is the ability to run tabs for customers because they can swipe the card, leave the tab open under the customer’s name and keep track of multiple tabs simultaneously.

“This is incredibly helpful, especially when the tap room is busy,” said Fredricksen. “Another great thing about SalesVu is that it’s very easy to setup and use. It is quite intuitive and user friendly; I was able to teach everyone in the company how to use it very quickly.”

Maybe we’re partial, but this looks like San Francisco’s best golfing!

The Company

Eagle Club Indoor Golf (ECIG) brings a real golf experience to an indoor environment in the heart of downtown San Francisco. Using a real set of clubs and balls, golfers can practice in driving stalls or in a simulation room to play 18 holes in just about an hour per person. ECIG’s goal is to help customers get the most out of their game by using the latest launch monitor and simulation technology to help gather data on players’ ball flight or put them in the context of a shot they’re struggling with on a real course.

The Needs

Eagle Club needs an iPad POS in order to maximize their golf space and limit the office and desk clutter.

“Not having wires running everywhere and a bulky screen helps make that possible,” said Owner Michael Sharratt.

The SalesVu Decision

After looking into Square, PayPal and Intuit, SalesVu iPad POS turned out to be the right solution for ECIG. A big factor in their decision was that SalesVu is cheaper than a traditional POS system/merchant service provider on both startup and monthly costs. Sharratt also loved the “cool features for easy setup.”

“SalesVu was an easy choice with the cheaper processing price, cloud based features, inventory control and quick deposit times,” said Sharratt.

The Results

Sharratt likes the cloud based system as they use two registers, one cash drawer and one receipt printer.

“We can open up orders on one and close it on the other, which is important if one iPad is out taking drink orders so customers checking out at the front desk can close their orders there,” said Sharratt.

SalesVu iPad POS allows ECIG to be more profitable as they don’t have to pay additional fees and can access next day payments.

“For a startup, cash flow is essential and not having a waiting period to receive our payments is crucial to paying our bills on time or getting that crucial piece of equipment or advertising sooner rather than later,” said Sharratt.

Eagle Club has saved at least $1,000 upfront by not going with a traditional POS system.

“I used to sell merchant services so I know we’re paying far less,” he said.

According to Sharratt, they’re saving hundreds of dollars over the course of a year by not using similar solutions to SalesVu; plus, the savings in times because of the cloud based system, reports and lack of system downtime.

Open Tabs Make All the Difference at Yellow Springs Brewery

IMG_0305

Yellow Springs Brewery (YSB) is a seven barrel brewery located in Yellow Springs, Ohio, just outside Dayton. YSB is a production brewery with a taproom that is open Wednesday through Sunday.

YSB wanted a mobile POS for flexibility.

“Old POS systems are very clunky and stationary,” said Yellow Springs Owner Nate Cornett. “Our staff can walk to the customer, set up a tab and take care of their needs right then and there.”

SalesVu was recommended by other breweries and having open tabs was a must for YSB to run their taproom. Cornett had helped set up Quickbooks in a friend’s taproom and says it was “not near as flexible.”

“The tabs feature is invaluable,” said Cornett. “There are too many [favorite] features to name, really. The ease of use and ability to add a new product online are a huge benefit! If one beer drops midweek and you are adding a new one, it’s easy to modify your POS.”

YSB has saved modestly upfront but not having to pay a maintenance fee is a big deal for them.

SalesVu has allowed us to spend more time on running the business and less worrying about whether or not our POS system can handle our environment,” said Cornett.

SalesVu iPad POS System Open Tabs and Tip Adjustment Features

Open tabs and tip adjustments: two features that set the SalesVu restaurant POS apart from the rest in the restaurant industry!

Let’s start with the open tab capabilities in SalesVu. Unlike most other POS systems, in the SalesVu app, your establishment has the ability to swipe a customer’s credit card, open a tab and leave it open while still processing other transactions and taking orders. When a customer wants to add an additional item to their tab, such as another glass of wine, you just find their name and add it to the tab; you can manage unlimited open tabs simultaneously. Additionally, these tabs can be managed and edited on different devices.

SalesVu’s open tab abilities are also great for the customer for a few reasons. First, customers won’t have to worry about leaving their credit card with employees and will have the satisfaction of keeping it on themselves. Second, it is more convenient for customers to only pay for one order and keep track of their purchase. Lastly, if multiple devices are available, it gives them the freedom to move around the restaurant/ bar without having to go back to the same device; this simplifies and quickens the ordering process, making it easier for customers to spend money.

“This helps immensely because we can offer our customers the convenience of running a tab, giving the customer the peace of mind of not leaving their credit card with a stranger, and [it] comforts the business as they won’t have to eat any tabs left open,” said Mason City Brewing Owner Justin Merritt.

Now, for adjusting tips! SalesVu’s iPad POS gives you and your customers the option of tipping one of two ways. First, you can add a tip on the device after swiping a customer’s credit card. If you are a business that prefers not to print receipts then this is for you! After creating an order (and swiping their credit card), you may turn the device around to the customer, allow them to enter a tip onto the device if they choose to do so, press “Next” and sign digitally.

The second tipping option is for businesses that offer printed receipts in addition to e-mailed. On the paper receipt, customers are given the standard line to add tip before signing. If this is the case, your employees can go back and access orders at any time (every couple hours, at the end of the day or end of the week) and add the tip amount to the order total. This means that tickets can go back and be accessed and adjusted beyond simply adjusting a tip. If for some reason you decide to go back and discount or cancel an order, you may do so.
