McKinney’s Irish Pub Chooses SalesVu’s iPad POS over competitors

McKinneys Irish Pub (MIP) is a new, authentic 2,000 square foot pub in the Haymarket district of Lincoln, Nebraska. MIP boasts a large selection of craft beer and Irish whiskeys.

Though McKinneys only opened in November, Owner Nathan Stewart has been in the food industry for almost 15 years and worked with numerous POS system, including Micros, Aloha and others.

Stewart wanted an iPad POS to “step up the service.” McKinneys can now have servers on the floor with iPad Minis and save two to three minutes in the ordering process.

“This was the first time we went to an iPad interface,” said Stewart. “I used other systems before for my other business but I knew that I would be running a bar and needing more detail like, printing credit card receipts, inventory control and clocking employees in and out. I would say I researched [SalesVu] for about a month [prior to making my decision].”

Stewart also considered Breadcrumb, Revel and Micros for McKinneys.

“I chose SalesVu’s restaurant POS because of the price, customization abilities, inventory control and integration with QuickBooks,” said Stewart.

Stewart says his favorite SalesVu feature is the QuickBooks integration.

“It makes our job as business owners a lot easier when you don’t have to spend so much time doing the reports,” said Stewart. “All of the different reports that SalesVu can do are really convenient as well.”

Stewart believes that SalesVu has made them more efficient and saved them anywhere from $500 to $15,000 based on other estimates he was given. He also says he has saved on SalesVu’s free customer support.

Lake Charles Martial Arts Loves SalesVu’s iPad POS System feature ,Inventory Management and Invoicing

Lake Charles Martial Arts (LCMA) is a martial art school that goes beyond martial arts and turns people’s lives around through innovative curriculum. “Our instruction not only changes our students’ lives but also helps improve the lives of people around the community,” said Owner John Newport.

LCMA found SalesVu when searching for a POS system that could track inventory. At the time, they were using PayPal but were quickly outgrowing its usefulness as their product and service options grew.

“The fact that [SalesVu] is less expensive to use than PayPal helps in dropping our overhead costs and presents us as a truly professional company with receipts and invoicing that are customized to our needs,” said Newport.

Lake Charles Martial Arts does a lot of traveling, private lessons and special functions away from school, giving them the need for an iPad POS.

“When tournaments come about we need something reliable to collect payment (non-cash) at the door,” said Newport.

LCMA researched more than 80 POS systems when looking for a new system.

“We looked at ShopKeep, but the monthly charges for what we needed prevented that sale,” said Newport. “We looked at NCR Silver but it was too complex and expensive. We considered LightSpeed but we saw that we would outgrow their introductory offer and could not afford the next level.”

LCMA chose SalesVu because they could try it without any required commitment. Once Newport saw that SalesVu iPad POS could grow with LCMA without being nickel and dimed plus the extensive list of features, they “knew they had a winner.”

Newport’s favorite thing about SalesVu’s solution is its simplicity. They also like the ability to invoice a sale complete with their logo and all of the pertinent information as well as the capacity to transfer sales between devices.

“Our students are wowed when they see us take our iPad or phone out to complete a sale or tuition payment,” said Newport. “We are the only martial art school in the area with anything like this.”

“The online coupons and option to get actual gift cards and track their usage help keep us on top of what is working,” said Newport.

According to Newport, SalesVu has helped in the retention of students by offering so many different means of payment.

“If someone doesn’t at least try SalesVu, then they are just going to waste their money,” said Newport.

See How This Weight Loss Clinic Uses SalesVu iPad POS System

Welcome to SalesVu, Medloss! Medloss is a medical weight loss clinic that uses a combination of physician supervision, nutritional counseling and fitness training. They heard about SalesVu when searching for an easy-to-use and expandable POS system. Prior to discovering SalesVu, Medloss was using a combination of Intuit and Quickbooks. They also considered Square but chose SalesVu’s iPad POS because of “the ease of setup and use.”

“When it comes to losing weight, we like the ability of taking our business to the person instead of the person to the business,” said Medloss’ Ched Lambert. “We wanted the ability to go offsite if needed.”

So far, Medloss loves the recurring billing that SalesVu’s POS system offers as they provide a payment plan to offset the upfront cost for patients.

DULCE Affair, the store that does it all, loves SalesVu iPad POS System and the QuickBooks integration!

The Company

DULCE Affair is a boutique that carries the latest fashions (i.e. shoes, handbags, accessories); from latest trends to designer labels. They also offer event planning, custom cakes, bridal wear and accessories.

“We are a boutique that celebrates life’s sweet moments; from those milestone moments in life like weddings, graduations and birthdays,” said Owner Marleen Nogueras. “We believe in looking good and feeling good from the inside out and spreading the love.”

The Needs

DULCE needed an iPad POS so that they could offer customers more flexible payment options. They sell merchandise at different markets in different towns (including Latin America and Panama), have a physical store and sell on EBAY. They also offer shopping events to customers in a variety of locations.

“Most people do not carry cash and we found that prior to this solution we would lose sales,” said Nogueras.

The SalesVu Decision

Originally, DULCE chose Square as their POS system. However, according to Nogueras, they quickly found out Square was “limited.” After extensive research (including Point of Sale, Intuit, Cashier and Flint) and communication, they chose SalesVu for all of its features. The specific features that won them over included: inventory tracking, product and services management, employee management, reports, marketing tools, customer tracking, split payment options, QuickBooks integration (QB’s Premier), emailed receipts (which customers love) and customer service.

“I do not feel like just another number, I feel like I have a friend that is helping me out,” Nogueras said of SalesVu’s customer service.

The Results

DULCE Affair is now mobile (duh!). They have several iPads so they are now able to sync them when they are at various places. Some days they go to many different locations in addition to being at their permanent shop.

“We use it daily as our register, it tracks our inventory, sales, etc.,” said Nogueras. “The product management and reporting system are key for us. The QuickBooks integration was the cherry on top.”

“We love that we always have it with us and can make a sale anytime and anywhere,” she said.

Nogueras says since adopting the SalesVu iPad POS, they are now more organized and in control.

DULCE saved on equipment cost because they already had an iPad for personal use and they continue to save by “being able to manage [their] discounts, labor and profits via the reports.” They also can be more cost effective through tracking items that sell best.

Now with the SalesVu’s QuickBooks integration, Nogueras doesn’t have to manually enter information, she’s saving multiple hours per day and has less errors in accounting.

“I am able to provide accurate and timely reports of taxes, payroll reports, profit and loss statements, etc,” said Nogueras. “It is fantastic!”
