Reporting and Inventory Management are Key at Yo’Cheese

The Company

Yo’Cheese (YC) of Centennial, Colorado is a small family owned business in a premier outdoor shopping venue. With few employees, YC has a menu offering 4 types of grilled cheese sandwiches (all named after the owners’ children), a weekly special and a homemade tomato soup.

The Needs

A mobile solution is necessary due to their of lack of space and frequent deliveries to businesses

“We can take our iPad with us and make a transaction when we deliver,” said Yo’Cheese Co- Owner Colleen McConeghy.

Choosing an iPad POS

YC considered Intuit in addition to SalesVu when researching POS systems.

“We chose SalesVu because of the functionality, as well as the price,” said McConeghy. “It’s completely worth it to have amazing functionality like the reporting and inventory — a lot of great tools that make our job a lot easier.”

Life With SalesVu

YC’s favorite feature is the inventory tracking.

“We have four kids, a business, a lot of activities; we love that we receive alerts when a product has dropped below a certain amount,” said McConeghy. “We don’t have to guess, go to the shop, ask our employees; we know right away.”

They also really like SalesVu’s ease of use.

“It takes us just minutes to get new employees up and running,” said McConeghy. “We don’t have to spend or waste a lot of time getting new employees set up with a complicated system.”

Yo’Cheese is able to do just about everything through the solution.

“Hours for pay, sales reports for tax reporting — it’s a one-stop place for all of our financial tracking,” said McConeghy. “We also like the partnership with Mercury. If Mercury has an issue, it’s resolved in minutes. Did we mention it’s easy to use?”

SalesVu iPad POS System Over Square at Sweet Freedom Bakery

Based in Philadelphia, PA, Sweet Freedom Bakery (SFB) is an allergy-friendly bakery that offers treats free of gluten, corn, soy, dairy, eggs, nuts and refined sugars. SFB ships throughout the continental U.S. and will soon be opening a second location in New Jersey.

“We are truly one of a kind and love what we do,” said SFB Owner Jen Kremer.

Sweet Freedom needed a new POS because their current solution, Quickbooks POS, was dated, “horrible” with tracking items, had no timekeeping and did not integrate well with credit card processing. They also sell their treats at local events, fundraisers and farmers’ markets, so having a mobile POS makes it easier to sell their products away from home while also keeping accurate records.

“We narrowed every option on the market down to two: SalesVu and Square,” said Kremer. “Obviously upfront costs pushed us in the direction of these two and ultimately SalesVu won our loyalty because of employee timekeeping. Other items were also charming like gift card integration, quickbooks integration, etc.”

SFB likes that programming is simple with SalesVu’s iPad POS and can be done from anywhere. Kremer can do payroll from home and if the internet goes down, she can ring up customers from her iPhone. “Shall I go on,” Kremer asks when talking about her favorite SalesVu features.

“Since adopting SalesVu, we have smarter record keeping, more accurate money handling and the ability to do payouts without having a separate petty cash account,” said Kremer. “[SalesVu] really simplified our business.”

Sweet Freedom saves nearly $3,000 annually with SalesVu’s solution.

Alpha Brewing Company Talks SalesVu iPad POS System

379701_493180540751873_602077778_n

Alpha Brewing Company (ABC) is a small microbrewery located in St. Louis that sells beer and merchandise in their tasting room.

An iPad POS was important for ABC because they needed a way to process credit cards and hold tabs. When opening their business, ABC looked into Square, SalesVu and PC-based POS systems. SalesVu prevailed for two reasons: they like using Apple products and they wanted SalesVu’s tab and tipping features.

ABC Owner Derrick Langeneckert really likes the cloud-based sales reporting that SalesVu offers.

SalesVu has also made it easy to process credit cards,” said Langeneckert. “We saved at least $1,000 upfront. The PC-based systems require you to purchase a lot of hardware; we didn’t want to buy a Windows machine.”

Inventory, ECommerce Website and Employee Management are Essential at Juice Junkies

Juice Junkies

Juice Junkies (JJ) has arrived! JJ is a raw, organic juice bar that serves cold, pressured juices that are bottled in-house. They also serve superfood smoothies as well as raw and vegan food, all made on location and packaged to go.

SalesVu is Owner Hillary Biediger’s first mPOS.

“I’ve used Aloha and Squirrel in other businesses at which I’ve worked,” said Biediger. “I didn’t like them.”

She also considered Square and POS Lavu. Biediger liked SalesVu because there was no major start up cost, just the cost of hardware and extra credit cards swipers. The transaction fees were also appealing to her.

“[SalesVu] is a full POS solution: inventory, online ordering, employee clock-in and clock-out,” said Biediger. “It has everything you need to run a small business.”

An iPad POS was important for JJ because it takes up less space and looks nice and clean.

“My main reason for using a mobile POS is that the parking lot at my store is limited, so I would like to be able to run my product out to my customers and use my iPod Touch and swipe their credit card so they can be on their way..FAST,” said Biediger.

Biediger likes how easy it is to change a product or price on the computer and have it immediately updated on the devices.

“I like online ordering; I also like how easy it is to use SalesVu,” said Biediger. “This will make training employees so much easier!”

Funky Pearl Boutique Talks about SalesVu iPad POS System

IMG_20130808_151408_919

The Company

Funky Pearl Boutique (FPB) is a small fashion retail store that focuses on high quality and cheaper pricing. FPB is located in a small community with the expectations of a big community. They sell clothes in a wide range of sizes as well as accessories, shoes and home decor.

The Need for an mPOS

FPB wanted customers to have flexibility and a variety of ways to pay.

“I was not planning to accept checks, only cash,” said FPB Owner Billie Kelley. “I could not afford to purchase an actual POS system right off hand, however I had an iPad and the low cost (free) fit perfectly into my budget. I love it; it’s a convenience to everyone!”

Choosing an iPad POS

SalesVu came recommended to Kelley while remodeling FPB’s building. Kelley’s friend (another boutique owner) was happy with the SalesVu iPad POS so she looked into it further.

“I have yet to use another system other than SalesVu,” said Kelley. “SalesVu was my first trial run for a POS system and so far we’ve had great luck with it with no intentions of switching.”

Kelley also considered Intuit, PayPal and Square when researching POS solutions.

“I had left banking before I opened my boutique and worked with many fraudulent accounts with PayPal and also heard some ugly rumors,” said Kelley. “Nobody I had spoken with used the other two that I considered (Intuit and Square) so I furthered my research in the one recommendation I was given.”

So..Why SalesVu?

Kelley claims to have chosen SalesVu for many reasons.

“I was able to use it as my cash register, inventory, bookkeeper and print reports needed for my accountant,” said Kelley. “I did not have to do any report figuring myself; it makes it convenient so I don’t have to spend time at the end of every month working on reports, rather I can spend it on improving my store.”

Favorite Thing About SalesVu

“My favorite feature about SalesVu is definitely how you can input your inventory into categories on the app to keep all merchandise separate and easy to find,” said Kelley. “Nobody likes to wait in line to purchase merchandise; this way, it provides an easy and fast way to checkout customers and a convenience to me as the owner.”

Welcome to SalesVu, Haunts of Mackinac Tours!

Haunts of Mackinac Tours (HMT) has adopted SalesVu! HMT is a walking tour company that provides guests with tours of history, legends and ghost stories of Mackinac Island, Michigan.

HMT needed an iPad POS because they sell tickets in a number of locations in addition to having a gift shop. Prior to looking into different POS solutions, they were using a traditional cash register and an online ticketing system.

Owner Todd Clements chose SalesVu because it “looked easy to use and to train others to use. Most importantly was the ability to maintain inventory numbers and tracking hours.”

His favorite features include the reporting abilities and inventory control because he can keep a close eye on the business from anywhere.

98 Cents Plus Discount Store Talks about SalesVu iPad POS System Extensive Capabilities

At the 98 Cents Plus Discount Store, you can get anything from beer and wine to home improvement goods to baby food. They describe their business as a convenience store mixed with a merchandise store. 98 Cents Plus also sells tobacco, products and lottery tickets. Additionally, they have a Western Union Service on location to transfer money.

98 Cents Plus discovered SalesVu’s POS system while looking into Square. They considered Square but Square did not have the ability to track inventory as SalesVu’s retail POS does. Prior to adopting the SalesVu iPad POS, they did not have the ability to track sales and inventory.

“We had to do everything manually,” said Nitya Patel, owner of 98 Cents Plus Discount Store.

98 Cents Plus did not need a mobile POS system but due to the rates, they could not resist.

“We picked SalesVu iPad POS because first of all it has very low rates for merchant service when compared to other merchant companies,” said Patel. “Also, it has a backend website where we can input inventory, track sales, change prices, etc. We love this feature.”

Patel’s favorite aspect of SalesVu is that they now use an iPad for the terminal and the customers love it.

“We had situations already where customers would come back with their kids just to show their kids how the system works,” said Patel. “They love it!”

Also, it is much easier for them to track inventory now.

“We used to have to remember each and every item and its price so that we could ring it up,” said Patel. “Now, we just scan the items and we do not need to worry about charging the wrong price to a customer. This also helps us to save money in the long run.”

DePuma’s Gluten Free Pasta Now Using SalesVu’s iPad POS System

DePuma’s Gluten Free Pasta (DGFP) is a family owned business that offers premium pastas to customers with dietary restrictions and those who want to live a gluten/wheat-free lifestyle.

DGFP was using Intuit when one of their customers that owns a bakery told them about the SalesVu retail POS. Before switching they also considered Square and GoPayment. SalesVu stood out because they felt the POS system offered the best fixed rate.

“Having the same rate for either swiped or manual was key for us,” said Owner John DePuma.

DePuma’s needed an iPad POS because they often go to vendor events to sell pastas and want the ability to offer credit cards as a payment method for customers. Now, the convenience of a mobile sale at the shop is easy.

“We love the user friendly website where we can add products and inventory with no issues,” said DePuma. “Creating a sale is so fast and we can print a receipt within seconds!”

DULCE Affair, the store that does it all, loves SalesVu iPad POS System and the QuickBooks integration!

The Company

DULCE Affair is a boutique that carries the latest fashions (i.e. shoes, handbags, accessories); from latest trends to designer labels. They also offer event planning, custom cakes, bridal wear and accessories.

“We are a boutique that celebrates life’s sweet moments; from those milestone moments in life like weddings, graduations and birthdays,” said Owner Marleen Nogueras. “We believe in looking good and feeling good from the inside out and spreading the love.”

The Needs

DULCE needed an iPad POS so that they could offer customers more flexible payment options. They sell merchandise at different markets in different towns (including Latin America and Panama), have a physical store and sell on EBAY. They also offer shopping events to customers in a variety of locations.

“Most people do not carry cash and we found that prior to this solution we would lose sales,” said Nogueras.

The SalesVu Decision

Originally, DULCE chose Square as their POS system. However, according to Nogueras, they quickly found out Square was “limited.” After extensive research (including Point of Sale, Intuit, Cashier and Flint) and communication, they chose SalesVu for all of its features. The specific features that won them over included: inventory tracking, product and services management, employee management, reports, marketing tools, customer tracking, split payment options, QuickBooks integration (QB’s Premier), emailed receipts (which customers love) and customer service.

“I do not feel like just another number, I feel like I have a friend that is helping me out,” Nogueras said of SalesVu’s customer service.

The Results

DULCE Affair is now mobile (duh!). They have several iPads so they are now able to sync them when they are at various places. Some days they go to many different locations in addition to being at their permanent shop.

“We use it daily as our register, it tracks our inventory, sales, etc.,” said Nogueras. “The product management and reporting system are key for us. The QuickBooks integration was the cherry on top.”

“We love that we always have it with us and can make a sale anytime and anywhere,” she said.

Nogueras says since adopting the SalesVu iPad POS, they are now more organized and in control.

DULCE saved on equipment cost because they already had an iPad for personal use and they continue to save by “being able to manage [their] discounts, labor and profits via the reports.” They also can be more cost effective through tracking items that sell best.

Now with the SalesVu’s QuickBooks integration, Nogueras doesn’t have to manually enter information, she’s saving multiple hours per day and has less errors in accounting.

“I am able to provide accurate and timely reports of taxes, payroll reports, profit and loss statements, etc,” said Nogueras. “It is fantastic!”

Check Out Our Awesome New Customer, Wayfarer Boutique!

Wayfarer Boutique offers a unique shopping experience; a 1967 Sport King Camper as the storefront. Wayfarer travels around to different venues and sets up shop anywhere that is inviting to the public. Inspired by Restoration Hardware, they sell traditional home décor, fine linens by April Cornell, gourmet pantry food items, jewelry, beauty products and everything in between. The long list of lines that Wayfarer carries include: Homart, Accent Decor, Better Life Cleaning Products, Rustic Bakery and Blue Moon Teas.

Owner Keri Martin found SalesVu while she was on the hunt to find an iPad POS that costs next to nothing after hearing her friend pays $50/month for her Shopkeep POS System. Prior to joining SalesVu, Martin was using ProPay.

“The price point was the biggest factor in my decision; I also like  Sythe inventory tracking feature,” said Martin. “Customer service was a motivating factor when I was making decisions on which company to go through; SalesVu always answered my questions.”

Because Wayfarer is about traveling and isn’t located in a brick and mortar building, having a retail POS terminal was crucial for doing business.

“Mobility and inventory tracking are my favorite SalesVu features,” said Martin. “I especially like the feature of adding the wholesale cost of each product and the quantities of each item in stock.”
