Small Fry Owner, Rico Nasol, Explains the Significance of SalesVu’s iPad POS SystemReporting

unnamed-2

The Company

Small Fry (SF) is a San Jose, California food truck that specializes in Belgian-style french fries with gourmet toppings. SF believes that french fries should be the “star” and no longer the side dish.

“Being America’s favorite side, it deserves to stand on its own,” said Small Fry Owner Rico Nasol.

Small Fry accomplishes this by bringing flavors to their fries from Asia, Mexico, the U.S. and beyond.

Small Fry’s Needs

As a food truck, SF needs a POS system that was as mobile as they are.

“We have different locations every day of the week and different locations for lunch and dinner,” said Nasol. “We need the flexibility to process payments anywhere we go. If you don’t take cards, you turn away so much business.”

The SalesVu Decision

When looking into mobile POS solutions, SF also considered Square and PayPal.

“We are a new business and SalesVu was our first choice,” said Nasol. “We signed up for Square as a backup, but we knew that SalesVu is exactly what we were looking for. The cost savings and the reporting, by far, gave SalesVu the edge.”

SalesVu is the perfect combination of an easy to use frontend with a robust backend reporting suite,” said Nasol. “It provides the functionality that we need for our young and growing business; it helps us manage everything from labor costs to sales.”

SalesVu had several features that attracted Nasol, including the ability to track how the truck’s sales regardless of where he is.

“I can login to the backend service and check orders in real time which helps on the days that I am not on the truck,” said Nasol. “The backend allows me to track those sales as well as analyze what sells best, when and where. It really helps us control inventory and be prepared for each service location.”

He also really liked SalesVu’s ease of use.

“It is so easy to set up products, categories, etc,” said Nasol.”Adding pictures is a breeze and the fact that all of that information can sync to our website is fantastic!”

The Results

Small Fry is saving money on transaction fees and food costs due to the ability to gauge their needs.

SalesVu really gives us the high level and the granular views we need to help make our business more efficient,” said Nasol. “We can slice and dice the data how we need to so we can figure out how to run our truck best.”

As a new business, Small Fry looks forward to online ordering, calling it a “powerful tool,” once they build up a following and repeat customers.

SalesVu iPad POS System at The Candy Wrapper

The Candy Wrapper (TCW) is a bulk custom gift and candy store in Lubbock, Texas. TCW needed an iPad POS to maximize sales and efficiency during the holiday season.

“Being a bulk candy store, we needed to be able to use a decimal point to accurately get people rung up; there were many apps out there, only a few that would incorporate a decimal for us to put in weight for a sales total,” said Tiffany Jablonsky, co-owner of The Candy Wrapper.

In addition to researching SalesVu’s retail POS, TCW also considered using Shopkeep and Imonggo.

“We researched apps for our business knowing we wanted to move to an ipad register,” said Jablonsky. “We found [SalesVu] through online reviews. We were using Square for credit card processing and an old offline register without inventory tracking.”

The Candy Wrapper enjoys the app’s ease of use, employee tracking and the ability to use the POS system in one spot in addition to mobility.

“We like all of the different reports you can look at for the store to track what is selling and when,” said Jablonsky. “We also deliver and it is handy for deliveries.”

Kalamatas Greek Grill (KGG) serves flavorful greek cuisine with a modern flare in West Chester, Ohio. KGG needed an iPad POS because they participate in festivals during the summer.

“It is extremely convenient for all credit card processing in-house and on the road to show up in one report,” said KGG Owner John Hanna.

Prior to adopting SalesVu’s POS system, Hanna had used First Data and Square at KGG and looked into Intuit GoPayment and Clover.

“I travel every month and I like the fact that I can control my menu –add or delete items — from anywhere as well as look up sales from my phone,” said Hanna. “Also, the employee clock-in and out feature is something that I could not find in other applications.”

District House Explains How SalesVu iPad POS System is Setting the Bar

Screen Shot 2015-01-20 at 7.21.51 PM

District House (DH) is an Oklahoma City coffee bar, deli and event center that hosts art and live bands on a regular basis. DH heard about SalesVu’s iPad POS from several businesses in the area that use it and “love it.”

“We had been using Square for our catered events and found that SalesVu was a much better option and that our employees loved the easy, intuitive design of SalesVu,” said DH Manager Joshua Cain.

“When looking around at options we looked at Square and our bank’s business system, but in talking with our business banker, she said that ‘our system can’t even begin to compete with SalesVu. We now have our IT guys looking into it and seeing what we can do to improve ours.’ She was blown away with how easy and cost effective it was. We had to go with SalesVu; no one could beat it or come close,” said Cain.

As a small business with a lot of space to cover, DH is able to use different mobile devices to manage the many events they host. With SalesVu, they can rearrange their space and having mobile sales stations makes it convenient and practical at events. They can use their iPad POS at the door for concerts or at the coffee cart during catered events.

“I’m able to add an artist and sell art on demand with the custom price option,” said Cain. “I love being able to see what we are doing in one report and manage my inventory based on the wide range of reporting and options that SalesVu offers; it makes my job as a manager easier and I take less time doing orders and tracking.”

Additionally, Cain likes that SalesVu is one of the only mPOS solutions that offers a time clock. He also says his employees find it easy and convenient to sign in on the computer, iPad, iPhone or other devices they have synced up.

“There is no way that District House could be so cost effective and run so smoothly without a simple and easy POS system like SalesVu,” said Cain. “We love it!”

Barnstormer Winery Explains Which SalesVu iPad POS System Features Make the Difference for Them

The Company

Barnstormer Winery (BW) is a Seneca Lake winery located in a century-old, historic barn.

“Just like the Barnstormer pilots of the 1920’s, we make it our mission to entertain and provide our guests with an unforgettable experience,” said Kyle Knapton, BW tasting room manager.

The newly renovated winery offers a wide array of Finger Lakes wines.

“We incorporate the charm of the rustic barn into the design of our laid back tasting room where you can relax, enjoy great wines and experience a slice of the Finger Lakes wine region that you will be sure to remember,” said Knapton.

BW also provides local cheeses, cured meats, snacks and beverages for creating your own picnic to go.

Choosing an iPad POS

Barnstormer needed an mPOS because they “run everything” from behind a square tasting bar.

“It’s best to take our POS to our customer rather than make them search for a checkout location,” said Knapton.

When researching their first POS system, BW looked into Shopkeep and SalesVu. They chose SalesVu as it seemed to be the most affordable and customer-service oriented POS that also fully tracked inventory.

“We love the ability to track our inventory and get sales reports instantly online from any location,” said Knapton. “The ease of getting all of the information is incredible! This allows us to track daily sales and set up employee scheduling at a moment’s notice.”

SalesVu iPad POS System Over Square at Sweet Freedom Bakery

150435_10151572073928092_969377467_n

Based in Philadelphia, PA, Sweet Freedom Bakery (SFB) is an allergy-friendly bakery that offers treats free of gluten, corn, soy, dairy, eggs, nuts and refined sugars. SFB ships throughout the continental U.S. and will soon be opening a second location in New Jersey.

“We are truly one of a kind and love what we do,” said SFB Owner Jen Kremer.

Sweet Freedom needed a new POS because their current solution, Quickbooks POS, was dated, “horrible” with tracking items, had no timekeeping and did not integrate well with credit card processing. They also sell their treats at local events, fundraisers and farmers’ markets, so having a mobile POS makes it easier to sell their products away from home while also keeping accurate records.

“We narrowed every option on the market down to two: SalesVu and Square,” said Kremer. “Obviously upfront costs pushed us in the direction of these two and ultimately SalesVu won our loyalty because of employee timekeeping. Other items were also charming like gift card integration, quickbooks integration, etc.”

SFB likes that programming is simple with SalesVu’s iPad POS and can be done from anywhere. Kremer can do payroll from home and if the internet goes down, she can ring up customers from her iPhone. “Shall I go on,” Kremer asks when talking about her favorite SalesVu features.

“Since adopting SalesVu, we have smarter record keeping, more accurate money handling and the ability to do payouts without having a separate petty cash account,” said Kremer. “[SalesVu] really simplified our business.”

Sweet Freedom saves nearly $3,000 annually with SalesVu’s solution.

SalesVu iPad POS System at The Electric Bean, a Non-Profit Coffee Shop

69419_576438269042821_219518992_n

The Electric Bean (EB) is a non-profit coffee shop, run by volunteer staff, that donates 100% of its profits back to the community. In this next quarter, their money will go to help fund the local homeless shelter and battered women’s shelter.

EB chose to operate their business with an iPad POS because they wanted to save counter space.

“We chose SalesVu primarily because of its straightforward operation,” said Electric Bean GM Andrew Nguyen. “We also loved the reporting system.”

Nguyen specifically likes being able to access reports and monitor transactions from his laptop anywhere that has internet.

“When I am away from the shop I can use the tool to check in on staff and see how busy we are based on the number of sales; it’s like having a live feed,” said Nguyen.

SalesVu has helped us by allowing us to have a mobile POS system,” said Nguyen. “There are times when we can load up SalesVu on other devices and take orders when our line gets too long.”

Inventory, ECommerce Website and Employee Management are Essential at Juice Junkies

Juice Junkies

Juice Junkies (JJ) has arrived! JJ is a raw, organic juice bar that serves cold, pressured juices that are bottled in-house. They also serve superfood smoothies as well as raw and vegan food, all made on location and packaged to go.

SalesVu is Owner Hillary Biediger’s first mPOS.

“I’ve used Aloha and Squirrel in other businesses at which I’ve worked,” said Biediger. “I didn’t like them.”

She also considered Square and POS Lavu. Biediger liked SalesVu because there was no major start up cost, just the cost of hardware and extra credit cards swipers. The transaction fees were also appealing to her.

“[SalesVu] is a full POS solution: inventory, online ordering, employee clock-in and clock-out,” said Biediger. “It has everything you need to run a small business.”

An iPad POS was important for JJ because it takes up less space and looks nice and clean.

“My main reason for using a mobile POS is that the parking lot at my store is limited, so I would like to be able to run my product out to my customers and use my iPod Touch and swipe their credit card so they can be on their way..FAST,” said Biediger.

Biediger likes how easy it is to change a product or price on the computer and have it immediately updated on the devices.

“I like online ordering; I also like how easy it is to use SalesVu,” said Biediger. “This will make training employees so much easier!”

Haunts of Mackinac Tours (HMT) has adopted SalesVu! HMT is a walking tour company that provides guests with tours of history, legends and ghost stories of Mackinac Island, Michigan.

HMT needed an iPad POS because they sell tickets in a number of locations in addition to having a gift shop. Prior to looking into different POS solutions, they were using a traditional cash register and an online ticketing system.

Owner Todd Clements chose SalesVu because it “looked easy to use and to train others to use. Most importantly was the ability to maintain inventory numbers and tracking hours.”

His favorite features include the reporting abilities and inventory control because he can keep a close eye on the business from anywhere.

DULCE Affair, the store that does it all, loves SalesVu iPad POS System and the QuickBooks integration!

The Company

DULCE Affair is a boutique that carries the latest fashions (i.e. shoes, handbags, accessories); from latest trends to designer labels. They also offer event planning, custom cakes, bridal wear and accessories.

“We are a boutique that celebrates life’s sweet moments; from those milestone moments in life like weddings, graduations and birthdays,” said Owner Marleen Nogueras. “We believe in looking good and feeling good from the inside out and spreading the love.”

The Needs

DULCE needed an iPad POS so that they could offer customers more flexible payment options. They sell merchandise at different markets in different towns (including Latin America and Panama), have a physical store and sell on EBAY. They also offer shopping events to customers in a variety of locations.

“Most people do not carry cash and we found that prior to this solution we would lose sales,” said Nogueras.

The SalesVu Decision

Originally, DULCE chose Square as their POS system. However, according to Nogueras, they quickly found out Square was “limited.” After extensive research (including Point of Sale, Intuit, Cashier and Flint) and communication, they chose SalesVu for all of its features. The specific features that won them over included: inventory tracking, product and services management, employee management, reports, marketing tools, customer tracking, split payment options, QuickBooks integration (QB’s Premier), emailed receipts (which customers love) and customer service.

“I do not feel like just another number, I feel like I have a friend that is helping me out,” Nogueras said of SalesVu’s customer service.

The Results

DULCE Affair is now mobile (duh!). They have several iPads so they are now able to sync them when they are at various places. Some days they go to many different locations in addition to being at their permanent shop.

“We use it daily as our register, it tracks our inventory, sales, etc.,” said Nogueras. “The product management and reporting system are key for us. The QuickBooks integration was the cherry on top.”

“We love that we always have it with us and can make a sale anytime and anywhere,” she said.

Nogueras says since adopting the SalesVu iPad POS, they are now more organized and in control.

DULCE saved on equipment cost because they already had an iPad for personal use and they continue to save by “being able to manage [their] discounts, labor and profits via the reports.” They also can be more cost effective through tracking items that sell best.

Now with the SalesVu’s QuickBooks integration, Nogueras doesn’t have to manually enter information, she’s saving multiple hours per day and has less errors in accounting.

“I am able to provide accurate and timely reports of taxes, payroll reports, profit and loss statements, etc,” said Nogueras. “It is fantastic!”
