The Company
Ravenfox Studios (RS) is an art studio that makes 2D and 3D perler bead art based on characters from video games, anime, comics and original works.
The Needs
“We do a lot of business and have a lot of stock, both in quantity and type,” said Amber Hyde, Ravenfox co-owner. “We have over 200 individual pieces that we sell multiple of. [SalesVu] helps us keep track of stock and sales.”
Choosing an mPOS
Prior to adopting SalesVu, RS was using Square but they wanted something to help manage inventory.
“We chose SalesVu POS System to create an inventory,” said Hyde. “We sell more of certain pieces at certain conventions and like to keep track, so the next year we know what sells and try to stock up on it. We like the inventory feature, which keeps track of quantities as you sell.”
RS likes the ability to create categories and subcategories, the receipt capabilities and the option to add discounts to preset prices.
“We offer discounts, usually dollar amounts, for large purchases,” said Hyde. “But we also use Facebook and paper coupons, which are percentages, so the ability to use either discount is really good.”
Ravenfox also likes using the custom item button and creating descriptions.
“We do custom orders and keep track of them so if we see recurring things being ordered we make them a part of our regular stock,” said Hyde.
The Results
RS is now able to track their inventory and has become more efficient overall.
“[SalesVu] keeps track of sales and you can easily download the information in graph or table format,” said Hyde. “It makes it especially easy for tax season.”
Prior to adopting SalesVu’s , RS had to hand-write receipts; when they had multiple customers, they sometimes lost business because people did not want to wait.
“There are also people who come to conventions without a lot of cash in-hand or not a lot of cash in the bank, but being able to charge [products] has, on more than one occasion, made a much larger sale since they were able to use their credit card,” said Hyde.
Ravenfox has been able to make their products available to customers online.
“We like the widget to put a shop on your website,” said Hyde. “We had a website before but it was more of an online catalog and you had to email your order.”
“We save a lot of money [with SalesVu],” said Hyde. “It also saves us a lot of time with receipt writing and probably has saved us some sales.”
