SalesVu iPad POS System at Craft Brewing Company

Craft Brewing Company (CBC) is a small microbrewery in Lake Elsinore, Ca. CBC is distributed throughout Riverside and Orange county but is rapidly expanding. Currently, they produce around 1,000 barrels per year and are growing production as they expand their reach. CBC runs a tasting room in the brewery, which is open 7 days/week and serves all of their production beers as well as specialty beers that are only offered in-house.

CBC came across SalesVu when looking for a more “sophisticated” POS system than the electronic cash register they were using; they read an article comparing Square to SalesVu. According to one of the CBC’s partners Tim Reagan, the cash register served them well but lacked capabilities and interfacing abilities. In addition to looking at Square, CBC also considered NCR Silver.

“We were really wanting to go to a POS that allowed us to set up a more intuitive retail system that was less confusing to train individuals on; we also wanted more accurate tracking of products,” said Reagan. “With the old style cash register we were not able to do this and what information we could get from it was very time-consuming in moving it from that device into a spreadsheet so that we could do some form of analysis on the data.”

When researching POS systems, Reagan broke down the abilities and functions of each system to compare them and see if each would perform the same operations and have similar processes as what they were already doing to avoid a difficult transition for the staff.

“All the systems have unique features that separate them from each other, but when it came down to it the SalesVu application gave us 95% of what we were looking for,” said Reagan. “With SalesVu iPad POS, we are now able to get all data regarding how certain products are doing even while the business is open real time.”

Having an iPad POS is important for Craft Brewing because they sell tastings on location, bottles to go, growlers and retail merchandise. They also do events which sometimes allow them to sell their merchandise.

“[This] is one of the reasons we were looking for a system that not only allows us to use it in our tasting room but also would give us the ability to do remote sales for events,” said Reagan. “This allows us to tie the databases for sales together and do reporting and inventory tracking much more easily.”

“We are also going to grow the [SalesVu] system as we grow our retail; at some point we will have more than one terminal in the tasting room and potentially have multiple terminals running off-site as well,” said Reagan.

Kalamatas Greek Grill (KGG) serves flavorful greek cuisine with a modern flare in West Chester, Ohio. KGG needed an iPad POS because they participate in festivals during the summer.

“It is extremely convenient for all credit card processing in-house and on the road to show up in one report,” said KGG Owner John Hanna.

Prior to adopting SalesVu’s POS system, Hanna had used First Data and Square at KGG and looked into Intuit GoPayment and Clover.

“I travel every month and I like the fact that I can control my menu –add or delete items — from anywhere as well as look up sales from my phone,” said Hanna. “Also, the employee clock-in and out feature is something that I could not find in other applications.”

District House Explains How SalesVu iPad POS System is Setting the Bar

Screen Shot 2015-01-20 at 7.21.51 PM

District House (DH) is an Oklahoma City coffee bar, deli and event center that hosts art and live bands on a regular basis. DH heard about SalesVu’s iPad POS from several businesses in the area that use it and “love it.”

“We had been using Square for our catered events and found that SalesVu was a much better option and that our employees loved the easy, intuitive design of SalesVu,” said DH Manager Joshua Cain.

“When looking around at options we looked at Square and our bank’s business system, but in talking with our business banker, she said that ‘our system can’t even begin to compete with SalesVu. We now have our IT guys looking into it and seeing what we can do to improve ours.’ She was blown away with how easy and cost effective it was. We had to go with SalesVu; no one could beat it or come close,” said Cain.

As a small business with a lot of space to cover, DH is able to use different mobile devices to manage the many events they host. With SalesVu, they can rearrange their space and having mobile sales stations makes it convenient and practical at events. They can use their iPad POS at the door for concerts or at the coffee cart during catered events.

“I’m able to add an artist and sell art on demand with the custom price option,” said Cain. “I love being able to see what we are doing in one report and manage my inventory based on the wide range of reporting and options that SalesVu offers; it makes my job as a manager easier and I take less time doing orders and tracking.”

Additionally, Cain likes that SalesVu is one of the only mPOS solutions that offers a time clock. He also says his employees find it easy and convenient to sign in on the computer, iPad, iPhone or other devices they have synced up.

“There is no way that District House could be so cost effective and run so smoothly without a simple and easy POS system like SalesVu,” said Cain. “We love it!”

SalesVu iPad POS System Customer Support is a Standout for Arcieri Confections

1385546_375569549240633_1391957968_n

The Company

  • Arcieri Confections (AC) makes handcrafted artisan bark that is sold at markets, online and by order.

“I have been, and still am, a restaurant designer for 30 years,” said Arcieri Confections Owner Dawn Arcieri. “I have always had a passion for creating desserts and entertaining. Creating the chocolate bark has become a fantastic outlet for that passion, not to mention it is an awesome product that most people seem to truly enjoy.”

The Needs

  • Many orders are purchased on corporate credit cards and AC does not have a storefront, as Arcieri frequently delivers to clients.

Choosing an mPOS

  • In addition to researching SalesVu iPad POS, Arcieri also considered using Square, PayPal and Wells Fargo.

“I did a lot of research when deciding on a POS solution,” said Arcieri. “At first I chose SalesVu for the rates, but as I dug deeper there were many other features that would allow me to adjust as I grew; the customer service was great too! I must have called five or six times before making a final decision and every time the person I spoke to was informative and helpful.”

  • Arcieri’s favorite things about SalesVu are the ability to add and subtract items and rework the inventory as she needed to fit her business.

What Stands Out?

“Everyone at SalesVu has always been so helpful,” said Arcieri. “Amazingly enough, even when I call on a Sunday morning, someone will take the time to walk me through my challenge at the time.”

  • Customer support

“I remember one Saturday right after I had gotten the new swipe device for my iPad, I was at a show and couldn’t get it to swipe; I panicked of course,” said Arcieri. “I called SalesVu and got someone immediately. Thank goodness it was as simple as turning up the volume, but for me it was a life saver at the time!”

The Results

  • AC has saved money on a POS station and software.

“[SalesVu] has made it easier for my clients to make payments other than cash or check,” said Arcieri.

Barnstormer Winery Explains Which SalesVu iPad POS System Features Make the Difference for Them

382537_139937489545487_1434071166_n

The Company

Barnstormer Winery (BW) is a Seneca Lake winery located in a century-old, historic barn.

“Just like the Barnstormer pilots of the 1920’s, we make it our mission to entertain and provide our guests with an unforgettable experience,” said Kyle Knapton, BW tasting room manager.

The newly renovated winery offers a wide array of Finger Lakes wines.

“We incorporate the charm of the rustic barn into the design of our laid back tasting room where you can relax, enjoy great wines and experience a slice of the Finger Lakes wine region that you will be sure to remember,” said Knapton.

BW also provides local cheeses, cured meats, snacks and beverages for creating your own picnic to go.

Choosing an iPad POS

Barnstormer needed an mPOS because they “run everything” from behind a square tasting bar.

“It’s best to take our POS to our customer rather than make them search for a checkout location,” said Knapton.

When researching their first POS system, BW looked into Shopkeep and SalesVu. They chose SalesVu as it seemed to be the most affordable and customer-service oriented POS that also fully tracked inventory.

“We love the ability to track our inventory and get sales reports instantly online from any location,” said Knapton. “The ease of getting all of the information is incredible! This allows us to track daily sales and set up employee scheduling at a moment’s notice.”

Bubble Crunch (BC) offers Bubble Tea and Asian fusion street food in a casual dining atmosphere. Their goal is to provide fun and delicious food at an affordable price.

“We didn’t need a mobile POS, but we like that we are able to keep our counter space clear and uncluttered so we have room to add merchandise instead,” said Nga Myers, Bubble Crunch owner.

BC found SalesVu when researching POS systems before opening their business. They also considered using Square and Micros.

“We chose SalesVu because the rates were great, the setup cost was minimal (iPad, printer and cash drawer) and it was flexible to meet our needs,” said Myers. “Since we are a restaurant, we need to be able to add modifiers to our orders.”

Myers’ favorite thing about is the customer service and simplicity.

“SalesVu is super easy to use,” said Myers. “I took two minutes to train my employee on opening day and they were able to handle the rush of 150 orders that came in without any issues.”

Open Tabs Make All the Difference at Yellow Springs Brewery

IMG_0305

Yellow Springs Brewery (YSB) is a seven barrel brewery located in Yellow Springs, Ohio, just outside Dayton. YSB is a production brewery with a taproom that is open Wednesday through Sunday.

YSB wanted a mobile POS for flexibility.

“Old POS systems are very clunky and stationary,” said Yellow Springs Owner Nate Cornett. “Our staff can walk to the customer, set up a tab and take care of their needs right then and there.”

SalesVu was recommended by other breweries and having open tabs was a must for YSB to run their taproom. Cornett had helped set up Quickbooks in a friend’s taproom and says it was “not near as flexible.”

“The tabs feature is invaluable,” said Cornett. “There are too many [favorite] features to name, really. The ease of use and ability to add a new product online are a huge benefit! If one beer drops midweek and you are adding a new one, it’s easy to modify your POS.”

YSB has saved modestly upfront but not having to pay a maintenance fee is a big deal for them.

SalesVu has allowed us to spend more time on running the business and less worrying about whether or not our POS system can handle our environment,” said Cornett.

Reporting and Inventory Management are Key at Yo’Cheese

The Company

Yo’Cheese (YC) of Centennial, Colorado is a small family owned business in a premier outdoor shopping venue. With few employees, YC has a menu offering 4 types of grilled cheese sandwiches (all named after the owners’ children), a weekly special and a homemade tomato soup.

The Needs

A mobile solution is necessary due to their of lack of space and frequent deliveries to businesses

“We can take our iPad with us and make a transaction when we deliver,” said Yo’Cheese Co- Owner Colleen McConeghy.

Choosing an iPad POS

YC considered Intuit in addition to SalesVu when researching POS systems.

“We chose SalesVu because of the functionality, as well as the price,” said McConeghy. “It’s completely worth it to have amazing functionality like the reporting and inventory — a lot of great tools that make our job a lot easier.”

Life With SalesVu

YC’s favorite feature is the inventory tracking.

“We have four kids, a business, a lot of activities; we love that we receive alerts when a product has dropped below a certain amount,” said McConeghy. “We don’t have to guess, go to the shop, ask our employees; we know right away.”

They also really like SalesVu’s ease of use.

“It takes us just minutes to get new employees up and running,” said McConeghy. “We don’t have to spend or waste a lot of time getting new employees set up with a complicated system.”

Yo’Cheese is able to do just about everything through the solution.

“Hours for pay, sales reports for tax reporting — it’s a one-stop place for all of our financial tracking,” said McConeghy. “We also like the partnership with Mercury. If Mercury has an issue, it’s resolved in minutes. Did we mention it’s easy to use?”

SalesVu iPad POS System Over Square at Sweet Freedom Bakery

150435_10151572073928092_969377467_n

Based in Philadelphia, PA, Sweet Freedom Bakery (SFB) is an allergy-friendly bakery that offers treats free of gluten, corn, soy, dairy, eggs, nuts and refined sugars. SFB ships throughout the continental U.S. and will soon be opening a second location in New Jersey.

“We are truly one of a kind and love what we do,” said SFB Owner Jen Kremer.

Sweet Freedom needed a new POS because their current solution, Quickbooks POS, was dated, “horrible” with tracking items, had no timekeeping and did not integrate well with credit card processing. They also sell their treats at local events, fundraisers and farmers’ markets, so having a mobile POS makes it easier to sell their products away from home while also keeping accurate records.

“We narrowed every option on the market down to two: SalesVu and Square,” said Kremer. “Obviously upfront costs pushed us in the direction of these two and ultimately SalesVu won our loyalty because of employee timekeeping. Other items were also charming like gift card integration, quickbooks integration, etc.”

480218_10150820135848092_2021423092_n

SFB likes that programming is simple with SalesVu’s iPad POS and can be done from anywhere. Kremer can do payroll from home and if the internet goes down, she can ring up customers from her iPhone. “Shall I go on,” Kremer asks when talking about her favorite SalesVu features.

“Since adopting SalesVu, we have smarter record keeping, more accurate money handling and the ability to do payouts without having a separate petty cash account,” said Kremer. “[SalesVu] really simplified our business.”

Sweet Freedom saves nearly $3,000 annually with SalesVu’s solution.

For more information about SFB, go to www.sweetfreedombakery.com, follow them on Twitter @sfbakery or like them on Facebook.
