Thanks For Choosing SalesVu iPad POS System, Tactical Defense!

Tactical Defense provides realistic and practical training to its Vienna, West Virginia customers. Owner H. Lee Gilliam is an NRA Certified Firearms instructor with over 25 years of experience who also served in the 1st Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. Tactical Defense offers a variety of classes to provide people with the necessary tools to defend themselves. Classes include hand-to-hand self defense, concealed carry, advanced concealed carry, tactical AR and shotgun and rifle classes.

“At Tactical Defense, we pride ourselves on providing realistic, yet practical training,” said Gilliam.

Tactical Defense also has a full service gun shop specializing in Smith & Wesson, Colt, Ruger, Khar and Glock. They custom fit holsters, offer gunsmithing and carry a full line of accessories, ammo and cleaning supplies.

Gilliam opened his business in April of 2013 and chose the SalesVu iPad POS for its simplicity and competitive rates (not having to “purchase a separate POS system for thousands just to get a lower processing rate”). They also considered Square and Intuit but did not like the much higher fees.

“We have been very happy with SalesVu iPad POS, especially with the customer support as we have had several questions since our start and have always has a prompt answer from a very patient and courteous staff member each time,” said Gilliam. “We would highly recommend SalesVu to others.”

SalesVu iPad POS System at Rolling Hot!

Rolling Hot (RH) is a mobile food service vendor that sells hot dogs from a cart. RH goes to events such as craft fairs, flea markets and farmer’s markets. Owner John Rhoades heard about SalesVu iPad POS on a weekly web podcast hosted by an entrepreneur who manufactures carts and advises future vendors. He had heard business owners, including the host, rave about SalesVu’s features. Rhoades had also looked into Square, but could not come to terms with them as he could SalesVu.

“I need a POS system because I am not in a ‘brick and mortar’ business with a landline for using a sales terminal,” said Rhoades. “The ability to use my smartphone with a card reader means that I can process payments using 4G or WiFi.”

Rhoades is looking forward to using SalesVu’s restaurant POS features to track sales, inventory and “just play around” with all that SalesVu iPad POS has to offer.

DULCE Affair, the store that does it all, loves SalesVu iPad POS System and the QuickBooks integration!

The Company

DULCE Affair is a boutique that carries the latest fashions (i.e. shoes, handbags, accessories); from latest trends to designer labels. They also offer event planning, custom cakes, bridal wear and accessories.

“We are a boutique that celebrates life’s sweet moments; from those milestone moments in life like weddings, graduations and birthdays,” said Owner Marleen Nogueras. “We believe in looking good and feeling good from the inside out and spreading the love.”

The Needs

DULCE needed an iPad POS so that they could offer customers more flexible payment options. They sell merchandise at different markets in different towns (including Latin America and Panama), have a physical store and sell on EBAY. They also offer shopping events to customers in a variety of locations.

“Most people do not carry cash and we found that prior to this solution we would lose sales,” said Nogueras.

The SalesVu Decision

Originally, DULCE chose Square as their POS system. However, according to Nogueras, they quickly found out Square was “limited.” After extensive research (including Point of Sale, Intuit, Cashier and Flint) and communication, they chose SalesVu for all of its features. The specific features that won them over included: inventory tracking, product and services management, employee management, reports, marketing tools, customer tracking, split payment options, QuickBooks integration (QB’s Premier), emailed receipts (which customers love) and customer service.

“I do not feel like just another number, I feel like I have a friend that is helping me out,” Nogueras said of SalesVu’s customer service.

The Results

DULCE Affair is now mobile (duh!). They have several iPads so they are now able to sync them when they are at various places. Some days they go to many different locations in addition to being at their permanent shop.

“We use it daily as our register, it tracks our inventory, sales, etc.,” said Nogueras. “The product management and reporting system are key for us. The QuickBooks integration was the cherry on top.”

“We love that we always have it with us and can make a sale anytime and anywhere,” she said.

Nogueras says since adopting the SalesVu iPad POS, they are now more organized and in control.

DULCE saved on equipment cost because they already had an iPad for personal use and they continue to save by “being able to manage [their] discounts, labor and profits via the reports.” They also can be more cost effective through tracking items that sell best.

Now with the SalesVu’s QuickBooks integration, Nogueras doesn’t have to manually enter information, she’s saving multiple hours per day and has less errors in accounting.

“I am able to provide accurate and timely reports of taxes, payroll reports, profit and loss statements, etc,” said Nogueras. “It is fantastic!”

SalesVu’s iPad POS System Provides Mason City Brewing with Unmatched Inventory Tracking and Reporting

The Company

Mason City Brewing (MCB) is Mason City, Iowa’s first brewery in over 130 years. MCB operates with a 1 BBL brew system and has a 24 BBL fermentation capacity. The onsite taproom seats 65 people and features eight of MCB’s beers on tap at all times.

“We focus on brewing a range of styles that will satisfy everyone from the craft beer novice to professionals,” said Owner Justin Merritt.

The Needs

MCB needed a POS system that was flexible enough to support their business and wouldn’t tie them down to a “traditional-style register” as they will be participating in events outside the taproom.

The SalesVu Decision

Before adopting SalesVu’s iPad POS, MCB looked at Intuit GoPayment, Square, Intuit POS, LightSpeed and Prosperity. They also demoed traditional POS systems before they “found and fell in love with the simplicity of SalesVu.”

“Ultimately, we chose SalesVu’s restaurant POS because it allowed us to create our own menu structure and item setup, provided some of the market’s lowest fees and offered the best online management options,” said Merritt.

MCB’s favorite thing about SalesVu is the ability to track the ounces of beer sold by beer type. As a brewery, this helps them create a production plan and provides MCB with the information they need to calculate taxes owed.

“We needed an iPad POS solution that provided this ability in the easiest way possible for the bartender, so that he wouldn’t fumble with the register rather than serve customers,” said Merritt. “SalesVu gave us just this with the ability to create different product levels and attach components to those levels. Selling a beer is as easy as two taps of the finger and we get all the tracking data we need on the backend.”

Another important feature that influenced the SalesVu decision is the ability to run tabs. According to MCB, SalesVu is one of the only retail POS applications they found that allows you to keep multiple orders open at a time and authorize a credit card on the order, this way, the business doesn’t have to hold on to the customer’s card.

“This helps immensely because we can offer our customers the convenience of running a tab (giving the customer the peace of mind of not leaving their credit card with a stranger) and comforts the business as they won’t have to eat any tabs left open,” said Merritt.

The Results

SalesVu has helped Mason City Brewing simplify in-store checkout and the order management process; it also has provided a level of sales reporting that they didn’t think they would be able to get.

”It allows us to understand which of our eight beers are in the highest demand and get a sense for the reception of new beers when we launch them,” said Merritt.

According to Merritt, MCB has saved thousands of dollars by adopting SalesVu.

“We save with every transaction when compared to Intuit GoPayment or Square and we saved significant costs upfront when compared to more traditional POS solutions like Intuit POS, LightSpeed or Prosperity.

Lastly, since SalesVu gives MCB all the reporting they need, they were able to simplify their accounting and record just the total sales and total inventory change into Quickbooks (using Quickbooks online without the SalesVu integration).

“SalesVu eliminated the need for a complicated Quickbooks setup and having all the detailed data in Quickbooks,” said Merritt.

BoomBox DJs (BBDJ) is a mobile DJ company that offers music and entertainment for various events including: weddings, school dances and festivals; they do it all!

“SalesVu really gives us the flexibility that we need,” said Owner Dillon Leduc.

According to Leduc, SalesVu’s POS system gave BBDJ all of the extra features that they don’t like to do manually, like clients, invoices, quotes and the entire back office.
